Introduction:
This five-day course conforms to the syllabus for those delegates wishing to gain both Change Management Foundation and Practitioner level qualifications.
This course provides delegates with the opportunity to look at approaches to managing change and demonstrate they can apply the principles in practice. Four core areas will be explored: change and the organisation, change and the individual, communications and stakeholder engagement and change management in practice. Together they will enable a delegate to develop a comprehensive change management plan to support effective change within an organisation.

Audience profile:
The Foundation and Practitioner qualification is aimed at anyone that is aspiring to become a change manager. It is also relevant to other staff involved in the change process. This could include:
- Change leaders (e.g. senior responsible owners)
- Change managers
- Portfolio managers
- Organisational development managers
- Change ‘agents’ (e.g. business change managers)
- Change implementers (e.g. programme/project managers)
- Change support (e.g. programme/project office) and operational line managers/staff
Pre-requisites:
- No prerequisites are necessary for attendance, although delegates would benefit from some experience of organisational change prior to attending this course.
- Those delegates wishing to take the Change Management Practitioner exam must have already passed the Change Management Foundation exam.
Course objectives:
During this course, you will learn how to:
- Recognise the drivers for change
- Consider the impact of change on individuals within the organisation
- Identify different organisation cultures and understand their impact on the change process
- Select an appropriate framework to use as the basis for the creation of a change management plan
- Plan learning activities to support change
- Identify and analyse stakeholders to understand their influence on the change plan
- Create and implement a communications management plan
- Develop an effective change team
- Develop organisations that can respond well to change
- Establish appropriate governance structures (Practitioner level)
- Prepare for large facilitated workshops to encourage meaningful dialog with those affected by the change. (Practitioner level)
- Design change that really does become the new business as usual (Practitioner level)

In addition, delegates will be provided with advice and guidance on the Foundation and Practitioner examination.
Associated certifications and exam:
This course will prepare delegates to take the Change Management Foundation and Practitioner examinations.
Successfully passing these exams will result in the attainment of the Change Management Practitioner certificate.
The Foundation examination is:
- 40 minutes
- Closed book
- Multiple-choice (with 50 questions and a pass mark of 25/50)
- The Foundation examination is taken on the afternoon of day 3 of the course.
The Practitioner examination is:
- 5 hours
- Partial open book (The Effective Change Manager Handbook may be used)
- Objective text i.e. complex multiple-choice
- Covers 4 syllabus areas including the Foundation level material
- 80 marks available and a 40/80 pass mark
- The Practitioner examination is taken on the afternoon of day 5 of the course.
Exam Prerequisite:
- Change Management Foundation certificate plus attendance an instructor-led Change Management Practitioner course.
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a Torque IT attendance certificate.
